| Nokia Media Master Firmware Patcher |
Updated December 22, 1997
Introduction
This utility patches Dream 5.x and Nokia FTA 1.0 firmware files and allows the name of the satellites and the presets for tuning to be changed using a simple Windows interface. I wrote this app because I use a Dreambox in North America and so the satellite names like Astra, Hotbird and Thor really don't apply here.
Using DreamP
Just launch the executable (it doesn't need any other files) and point the file dialog at a Dream 5.x or FTA 1.0 serial download binary file. You'll then see the screen below:
The FTA 1.0 code allows up to eight satellites to be stored with on screen signal preview for the first three. Just type the replacement names and enter a frequency, SR, FEC and polarity where you expect a signal to be. Click OK and then load the firmware in to the Media Master. If you don't want to patch the firmware, just click Cancel.
Notes
I've noticed a few odd things that I haven't figured out correctly in the binary code, so you might have odd problems with:
Downloading The Code
You can download DreamP by visiting our Download page. We also have an North American MPEG-2 Info page available which is worth reading if you don't understand all the terms used here.
